Dave, Thanks for setting up a great trip to Pedasi. The fishing was awesome. One day we caught 36 yellow fin and were back at the dock by lunchtime. We also caught dorado, pompano, jacks, and grouper. Of course, the big one got away. Something smashed a Crystal Minnow Bob was trolling inshore, but destroyed the swivel on his 60 # wire leader and escaped with the lure. Next time we’ll get him. We had a great time landing tuna on Jose’s flyrods, and pulling in a couple on Avadel’s handline too. Our 40# gear was about right for most of these tuna. We caught tuna every day, enjoyed sashimi at the hotel, and brought back many pounds of fillets. Please extend Bob’s and my thanks to Jose for his hospitality, which went beyond what we expected. All trip arrangements worked like clockwork. We were met at the airport on time. The El Panama was gracious and clean, and we were met on time the next day for the drive to Pedasi. Jose and Mara took us to the carnival at Las Tablas—an added bonus. The Villa Marina was comfortable, beautifully sited, and the service was gracious. The weather was beautiful, and Panama’s tuna coast is well named. I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to get out of the cold for a few days, bask in the warm Azuro sun, and bring back a boatload of fish.
